Bazza the Beautiful Bin Chicken

Bazza the Beautiful Bin Chicken is a playful celebration of Australia’s much-maligned urban scavenger — the ibis, affectionately known as the “bin chicken.”

Strutting proudly in his fabulous boots and adorned with an extravagant collection of discarded treasures, Bazza transforms rubbish into ridiculous beauty. With wings spread wide and a fabric softener bottle of “Bin Juice Cocktail” in hand, he embraces his reputation rather than hiding from it.

Built almost entirely from materials that might otherwise have been thrown away, Bazza reflects my fascination with transforming the unwanted, overlooked and ordinary into something joyful and unexpected. His collection of random objects becomes both decoration and evidence of our throwaway culture.

Bazza may be a scavenger, but he knows treasure when he sees it. One person’s rubbish is another bin chicken’s couture.
